Lessons from video games
Apr. 23rd, 2006 01:23 pmAs I study for my AP/IB tests, I realize that it bears a resemblance to a gauntlet. There is only one other gauntlet that I am very familiar with: In PS2's Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance, there is a Gauntlet mode where you can't save had have to smash through and kill all the swarms of monsters within 15 minutes before you unlock "Extreme mode" (which I beat)
Here is how THAT gauntlet applies to the IB Gauntlet.
1)Divide your enemies: since you can only hurt one at a time, why be surrounded?
2)Don't forget that for big ones, you have the options of attack from the front and the side too.
3)Don't forget to check your health every once in a while.
4)There's nothing wrong with using some "special techniques"
5)"Repulse" other things that get in the way.
6)Sometimes you can't see if you step too close, go ahead and change a perspective if it's too big.
7)There's no time to waste.
Now it's time for me to get out there and kick some ass...hopefully.
