So, now we're back from reno.

We got 2nd place in our division. Which is a division higher than we were in last year, and we got 4th last year too. I don't think we're any better than before, but oh well.

So, was just thinking... We were some silly kids, and we do silly things. I mean, that's what makes these trips so unique. It's kinda weird, thinking that there will be a day when we won't act like this anymore. I mean, you never see a band of diverse 35 year olds acting like a bunch of idiots in a hotel. (although I could imagine Chuck pulling something like that off even at his age, that doesn't mean I've seen it happen) I mean, what happens after college? Do people just stop having fun?

I don't really believe that "acting mature" is actually a real thing, I mean, people act "mature" because they have a common interest. Middleschoolers aren't mature in class because they are legally required to be there, not because they necessarily want to learn, so there is little common interest in their classroom, therefore, they act immaturely. Then in highschool, (at least in most honors classes), the kids become more "mature", well, that's only because most of them want either to learn or get good enough grades.

So, what common interest is it that makes adults (save brittany's mom) act more maturely when they go some where together? To fulfill social expectations of them? To set an example of behavior that would they believe will perserve public safety? Even so, there are still silly things that we do, that they don't, that aren't harmful.

Then again, I'm not exactly being fair. I mean, we don't play games we played in kindergarden anymore, even though we thought that some of them were awesome. Ummmm...perhaps this is because of basic needs? I mean, back in kindergarden the games we played helped us develop our motor skills. Because of the games' motor skill building benefits, they were games we were expected play. Nowadays we play games and do things for other reasons and fulfillments, but I guess one could argue that we play some of those games to develop other skills for useful for us in the near future, i.e. decision making, face reading.

So why don't middleaged people do the things we do, I still have no conclusion.
